Art is a tool, a skill and a form of communication that touches the human heart. My art displays some of my deepest values as I attempt to communicate them to others. God is my main inspiration in all that I do. He is the ultimate Creator, the Author, the epitome of beauty. When I look around me at the people, the nature and even some manmade things, I see the love and beauty of my Savior. My hope, as I create, is to communicate the vast beauty in the diversity and expression of people, places and things. My main focus is people. I love looking at people around me and admiring the diverse complexity of God's creativity. There is beauty in so many different sizes, colors, expressions; there is not one way to express all of that beauty in one. There is nothing more beautiful than the joy and hope in a person's eyes and nothing more heart-wrenching than the look of empty hopelessness and despair in another, or terrifying as fierce anger and hate in another. My goal is to portray the beauty and contrast that can be found in creation while pointing to my Savior, Jesus Christ. Without the Holy Spirit as my guide I would not be able to create the way that I do. I give thanks every day for the skills and talents He has given me and the amazing ways he has used me to touch those around me.
